Just visited Donald's Right Wing News version of one of his posts, and found the following comment:
repsac2 on Nidal Hasan: "regardless of the fact that it did turn out to be a terrorist act by a religious extremist, it was bigoted to make the claim"
Just no point trying to engage with someone like that.

What I actually said appears below:
Yes, Nidal Hasan almost certainly was a case of "lone wolf" terrorism, based on the facts we now have. But you wingnut reactionaries were saying it was terrorism from the second you learned of his religion and heritage, on the basis of his religion and heritage, alone. And regardless of the fact that it did turn out to be a terrorist act by a religious extremist, it was bigoted to make the claim when pretty much the only fact you had to support it was his religion.
The guy is right about one thing, though... There's just no point in trying to engage with someone who will go to the trouble to edit what you say so it means something different, and then attack their edited version of "your" statement. Like the guy himself says, there's "[j]ust no point trying to engage with... ...NorthernCanuck" (See, I can do it, too...)
"And the Strawman award goes to... NorthernCanuck!"
Hope he enjoys his "victory."

And if you arrived here after following the link from Professor Douglas' "Amy Bishop Leftist Hate Politics" post (Either from American Power, or the Right Wing News post where that deceitful comment was made), I invite you to read my reply to Donald's post, as well.
--------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE 2/15/10: (In reply to Donald's link to this post from American Power.)
"But of course, idiot leftists will still tell you that you shouldn't draw conclusions, even though Nidal Hasan handed out Korans the morning of the killings, and he sought spiritual guidance through chants of "Allahu akbar" — "God is great" — moments before opening fire on the innocents."
Your "idiot leftists" link doesn't show what you claim it does. There is nothing about the Hasan case at this post. (And the admonition not to jump to conclusions that I did express then, at your posts and elsewhere--which was a reaction to the very early reports from you and your reactionary pals, offered hours or more before the bit about the Korans, or his attempted contact with AQ, or a whole slew of other things we later learned about the guy were known--applies now, as well. The ends don't justify the means, Donald.)
To be clear, here's a few links to what I was saying, at the time:

American Power: Amy Bishop, Detained in Huntsville University Faculty Murders, is Harvard-Trained Left-Wing Professor
The proof?
"Neuroscience essentially turns into a bioethics class. She's a liberal from "Hahvahd" and let's you know exactly how she feels about particular subjects. Class is a breeze, but you'll have to put a bit of concentrated effort into a few things."
That's right, folks... Based on a single student review at RateMyProfessors.com, Donald and a few of his reactionary pals are spreading the meme that this professor was in fact a liberal, and suggesting that her time at Harvard and the liberalism that got all over her there like cooties had something to do with what this woman did in the University of Alabama faculty lounge, yesterday.
Pathetic.
He's not alone, though...
Ace of Spades HQ: Three Dead at University of Alabama at Huntsville as Woman Denied Tenure Opens Fire
Yo, Ace: The difference between this shooter and the deranged teabagger from Masachusetts that you're on about? There are writings and statements from Girard (the teabagger) himself, saying that his motives were political. No such thing, (at least so far) in this case...
These are sad, politically-bigoted, awful people to use a shooting with no political overtones to score partisan points.
May they get what they deserve.
Just for fun, a few cherry-picked examples from Professor Douglas' ratings: Donald Douglas - Long Beach City College - RateMyProfessors.com
"Worst professor ever. Bias views and opinions. Although he knows his stuff, this guy is full of himself."
"This man needs to teach at a Junior High School where his personal politics wont matter to the students. Avoid this class. Try another instructor or you will waste your money."
"The dude is from pure loserville, he sounds like a lib, claims to be a republican, puts way too much personal anger in the class, he hates it if you disagree, will make your life miserable if you do. One of the worst professors I ever saw."
"Not the greatest teacher in the field. Is one sided and doesn't have difficulty in showing it."
"I took him a couple semesters ago and he has by far been the worst Poli Sci Major I've had. Assigned reading is bias and so are his views. Overall NOT GOOD. I took this class over with a different Teacher got an A. Even counclers agree hes bad, but he been here forever and is staying put."
"Yes he is a very knowledgeable professor and truly understands what he is talking about but he is way to anal. And majorly stuck up in his ways and his personal believes. And completly ostracizes people who don't agree with him. Strongly inforces school policies on tardiness even up to 2mins being late. I seriously do not recommend him."
"he is a total ****. he lies and bullies students....he even makes crap up. i had the 2nd highest A in the class and then somehow got a D! he disagreed with my opinions and then held them against me. he contradicts himself in lectures. he sucks. dont take him!"
I went from "most recent" to "least recent," and note that there are far more allegations of political bias and opinionated behavior recently than there were earlier on. I've noticed the same thing in his blogging. He has become much more vehemently partisan and nasty toward those who don't agree with him in the time I've known him, and it apparently shows up in his teaching, as well. [ON EDIT] ...if we're taking the word of the kids at RateMyProfessor.com as proof of anything, that is... ...and who would do that, without further investigation, anyway...?

'Donald Douglas is a Scumbag"
I feel vindicated Reppy. Thank you.
Following some of your links, and googling Amy Bishop, and finding that she was co-inventor of a tissue culture incubator that was profiled by the New York Times at some point a few years ago, and used last year on a space mission, in collaboration with several U of Alabama groups, launched with a payload of motor neuron cells. The launch was successful, from what I can tell. She was no dummy, and no slouch, so I have to wonder about a couple of things. Why was she denied tenure more than once, and what made her snap?
Snap she did, clearly. My guess is severe mental illness, which is usually the case in situations like this. However, the spin being put on it is pretty heinous. Out of 34 ratings at "rate my professor", it seems she rated 3.7 out of 4 for "helpfulness" and a 2.3 for "easiness". There's supposedly some "man of interest" in this case, but I did see somewhere else her husband was taken into custody with her. Something strange about this story, but it isn't "communism" or "liberalism".
What is truly pathetic about DD's RMP page is not the accusations of bias by several students but the number of shill posts obviously written by DD or an accomplice.
Note the number that give basic advice that any instructor would give - come on time; be prepared - and end in "...and you'll do fine." These are only the most obvious. Also notice the relatively large number of rating/comments and the middling scores. There is a strong extremity bias in student comments, especially in self-selected samples such as RMP. Instructors who do not shill tend to collect either relatively few ratings/comments or an above average count of positive/negative comments. Relatively large numbers of comments (as compared to the rates of others in the same department) and middling ratings is a tell-tale sign of balancing poor ratings/comments with shills. Spikes in the frequency near tenure or other decision dates are another tell-tale, as students are generally unaware of these.
